Parking

Ample free parking is available on site.  This is on a nearby field.  For those in campervans or just hardy tent lovers, you are welcome to stay the night before if you require.

Registration

Registration will take place at Ingram cafe. Be aware that your nostrils may well fill aromas of coffee and bacon goodness.  Toilet facilities are available on site.  Registration will be outdoors so please be prepared with appropriate clothing.  We will have hand sanitisers on site if needed.

Run Route

The course is roughly a half marathon and takes you up through Cunyan Crags and Dunmoor to top out at Hedgehope before dashing back to whence you came.  Conditions can be hugely variable so be prepared for anything.  For more info have a look at the route here.

The route is fully marked but having some prior knowledge is a great advantage.

Self Sufficient

You need to be self-sufficient for food and water for the duration of the run.  Remember it’s quite an ascent so you’ll be burning through those calories.

Run Timing

We will record finish times and will make the results available after the event on the website. Please ensure your run number is visible after you cross the finish line. If you drop out of the event at any time after you have registered and collected your run number, then you must go to the nearest checkpoint/marshal or Registration and let them know you are dropping out.

Difficulty

Ultimately it is just a run and you can approach it as you see fit.  We advise that this run is for experienced people as the environment and terrain can be unforgiving.  Dry, hard winters are preferable but you’re more likely to experience very wet conditions.

Cut-Off Times

There are no cut-off times for this race.  As long as you are not crawling on your hands and knees and stopping for a picnic we will be waiting for you.

Required Kit

Please wear suitable clothing that will handle the potential weather conditions.  The climate can change dramatically in a short space of time.  For footwear we highly recommend off road/trail shoes.

Mandatory kit is shown below:

  • Enough fluid for 2 hours of running
  • Emergency whistle
  • Waterproof top
  • Hat and gloves
  • Mobile phone

Dropping Out

Should you drop out of the race can you let one of the marshals know.  If we don’t have you recorded as finishing the race or pulling out then we will need to locate you.

No Dogs

This is bird rearing land so please do not bring a dog.  Also, our insurance does not allow competitors with dogs.
