Sunday 5th Jan 2020
Ingram cafe, Ingram, Northumberland, NE66 4LT
What are the distances?
It’s titled as a half marathon but somehow country miles seem to vary a little bit. 🙂
There will be a large safety team out in the hills to make sure you are looked after no matter what the weather.
Standard distance: £30
(Additional £2 if you are not a member of a UKA affiliated running club.)
Entry includes a finishers medal and a custom mug in to which we will pour some steaming hot soup to bring you back round to life.
07:00 – Registration opens in cafe
09:00 – Registration closes
09:15 – Compulsory Safety Briefing (start line outside cafe)
09:30 – Start of The Winter Wipeout!
Ample free parking is available on site. This is on a nearby field. For those in campervans or just hardy tent lovers, you are welcome to stay the night before and/or after if you require.
Registration will take place at Ingram cafe. Be aware that your nostrils may well fill aromas of coffee and bacon goodness. Toilet facilities are available on site.
The course covers approximately 14 miles taking you up through Cunyan Crags and Dunmoor to top out at Hedgehope before dashing out on Comb Fell and coming back to whence you came. Conditions can be hugely variable so be prepared for anything.
There will be a food station near to the midway point on the course. Stuff in as much as you can and try not to throw it back up afterwards.
We will record finish times and will make the results available after the event on the website. Please ensure your run number is visible after you cross the finish line. If you drop out of the event at any time after you have registered and collected your run number, then you must go to the nearest checkpoint/marshal or Registration and let them know you are dropping out.
